Hi All!
We are pleased to welcome you to this week's edition of Undiscovered, a newsletter with exclusive resources and insights expanding from the material found on our main site - becketu.com.
This edition is helped in part by the support of Boot.dev. Be sure to check them out in the P.S. for a special signup offer and more information. Let's jump into this week's finds:
Entrepreneur and author Tim Ferriss recently tweeted out a few of his favorite books on negotiation. In his words, '(Secrets of Power Negotiating by Roger Dawson) is the one negotiating book that really opened my eyes and gave me practical tools I could use immediately.'
He also goes on to recommend Getting Past No by William Ury and Bargaining for Advantage by G. Richard Shell.
If you're interested in learning more about persuasion, you can find the best books, courses, and resources on our site here!
The big news recently is how Apple just released their new Vision Pro Headset. It runs a cool $3,500 as a starting price, but it's not the only available product on the market. There's also the Meta Quest Pro that starts at $499, and has the most impressive app I have seen in Mixed/Augmented Reality.
It's called Magic Keys. It's like playing 'Guitar Hero' but on your own piano. You place on the headset, and the notes come down in an augmented reality, vertical scroll as you play. If you have ever wanted to learn piano (like myself) this is going to be the fastest and most fun way to learn.
Nikita Bier is a social media app builder with a track record of success (founded apps Gas & TBH, previous Product Manager at Meta). He's one of my favorite Twitter follows, and is almost always either sh*t-posting or providing insane value on how to build in the consumer social space. I find myself coming back often to a tweet that he released in June, 2023.
Below, he listed out the 'ideal mobile app team', which is helpful for anyone thinking about building an app or in the middle of the process. Some of these roles can be condensed if a founder has multiple skills or the team is trying to stay lean.

This was a fun video that popped up on my YouTube feed, that shows AI learning how to play monopoly. If you have ever wondered what an optimal Monopoly strategy might look like, you'll find this video fascinating.
I was surprised to see this was made over two years ago, but in that time it has garnered over 9.7 million views. It's a little over 10 minutes long and perfect to watch if you're taking a work break or having a snack.
I was today years old when I discovered that in some parts of the world, aerial reforestation occurs by 'seed bombing' neglected areas! The process is shown below where a seedling will be nestled into soil, which is then packaged into a biodegradable container.
The container may be shaped as a ball, or have a sharp point to submerge itself in the earth below, eventually growing new trees and plant life. Check out how it works below:

P.S. Have you heard of Boot.dev? One of my friends showed me this recently and when I started to demo it, it blew me away! It's a site that teaches you back-end development in a fun, gamified way. It's helped over 70,000 students learn in-demand technologies like Python, SQL, Go, and a bunch of other advanced topics.
