Let's jump into this week's finds: How Artists Can Protect Their Work from AIBy now, I'm sure you may have heard or seen the new Open AI video creation tool, Sora. If you haven't, you should check out this video made by MKBHD. With the explosion of AI art, this naturally makes me think, How do artists protect the unauthorized training of their work? Ricardo Alves created a list of resources that is a great starting point for this exact problem. Be sure to share this with an artist you may know so they can use AI for their own benefit. Learn how to build a GPT from Founding Member of Open AIAndrej Karpathy was on the founding team of Open AI, and previously also a Sr. Director of AI at Tesla. On February 13, he announced he was moving on from Open AI to work on personal projects. What's wild is that he is also a prolific YouTuber. On his YouTube channel he regularly posts interesting AI content, including videos like an Into to Large Language Models and Building GPT from Scratch with Code. You can now find him on or main site in our Computers Resources section. What I'm Currently Reading for PersuasionI recently came across the Harvard Business Review book, Influence + Persuasion. It's a collection of articles ranging from the classic work of Cialdini, to storytelling with Robert McKee, selling with facts and figures by Michael D. Harris, and more. The articles strike a balance between appealing with different forms of logic, and it's a great refresher if you have prior exposure to the ideas. A Hidden Gem from Feynman's Tips on PhysicsThank you to @var_epsilon on Twitter for the wonderful Feynman figure below. You can find more of Feynman's Lectures on our site here.
Becoming Smart is Easy, ActuallyAs I write this, the YouTube channel easy, actually has 17.1k subscribers. I'm confident this channel is going to blow up by the end of the year. I recently came across their video, 'becoming smart is easy, actually', and it is so full of amazing, practical advice that I had to include it in this week's newsletter. It's a quick 7:30 video, with very simple drawings, but the concepts driving the story are worth the watch. P.S. Have you heard of Boot.dev? One of my friends showed me this recently and when I started to demo it, it blew me away! It's a site that teaches you back-end development in a fun, gamified way. It's helped over 70,000 students learn in-demand technologies like Python, SQL, Go, and a bunch of other advanced topics.
